Proof Of Learn Raises $15m In Funding, With VC New Enterprise Associates Leading Charge

New Web 3 “learn-to-earn” platform Proof Of Learn (POL) has managed to raise $15 million in funding yesterday, led by venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates.

The POL is a new, Web 3 based platform that lets users learn new skills as well as allows access to Web 3 employers through a career marketplace, all the while allowing them to earn cryptocurrency and NFT rewards as they learn.

The company’s vision is to ensure that anyone with an internet connection can gain a world-class online education, as well as direct access to income-earning opportunities and employment. With a focus on addressing the skills shortage experienced by the Web3 economy, the platform will facilitate learning in the metaverse with cryptocurrency rewards and collectible NFT credentials earned as an on-chain representation of skills advancement.”

The company was co-founded by Filipino-American entrepreneur Sheila Lirio Marcelo, the former CEO and founder of POL will use the funding to spread awareness among users and aims to launch its first project in the middle of 2022.

”The global demand for accessible and affordable education has created a massive opportunity for Proof of Learn to make learning scalable with a new decentralized model for people around the world,” said Tony Florence, a managing general partner at New Enterprise Associates.

New Enterprise Associates said it has been making numerous investments in the education and crypto sectors, including investing in online learning platforms Coursera, MasterClass, Everfi, and DesireToLearn as well as in crypto exchange FTX, fintech MoonPay, NFT marketplace OpenSea and Royal.
